GVSTK is state level NGO became registered during the year 1994 under Rajasthan Societies Registration Act 1958. It also came into existence in same year 1994 under the decentralization process of URMUL Trust of Bikaner (Rajasthan). It was formed as sub organization of URMUL trust under guidance of Late Sh. Sanjoy Ghose. At initial level organization concentrated its activities for livelihood and education for disadvantaged children especially child labor engaged in carpet weaving at household unit in villages. Further, by improving the livelihoods it appeared as immediate need in front of the organization due to drought in the starting years. Later, organization started addressing other issues related to livelihoods and education directly or indirectly viz NRM, Panchayati Raj (Local Rural Governance), Children’s  and Women’s Health. The organization believes in promoting village institutions and augmenting their capacities on issues concerning to their lives. At present GVSTK is addressing problematic issues of 72 villages of Toda and Malpura blocks of Tonk district and 15 villages of Silora block of Ajmer district within Rajasthan state. Organization has 21 full time in house and field workers with 50 committed volunteers to support various activities.
